What Is Laser Hair Removal?
Our specialised Laser will drastically reduce unwanted fine hairs from all facial and body areas, where other lasers simply fail. Unlike heat based lasers, our acoustic laser shatters the pigment and structure within the hair follicle to reduce dark fine hairs, to even fluffy light hairs.

FAQ’s
- How Much Does Laser Hair Removal Cost?
-
As our prices displayed on our website and through our online booking system are a guide only, upon consultation you will be provided with an accurate price for each hair removal treatment.
- Do I Need A Hair Removal Consultation Before My First Treatment?
-
Yes, absolutely. Everyone’s unwanted hair and skin is unique to only them, because of this we always consult with you before starting treatments to ensure we can give you the safest treatments and quickest results.
- How Do I Prepare My Skin To Achieve The Best Results For Permanent Hair Reduction?
-
We understand that other clinics may treat your hair, when your skin is simply not ready, but we aren’t just another skin clinic.
Preparation and consistency are the keys to achieving long lasting, rapid results. For optimum hair reduction we recommended a series of treatments in conjunction with a specific skincare routine.
During your Laser program your therapist may recommend and introduce a combination of Electrolysis, IPL and /or Alkaline hair removal treatments to gain maximum hair reduction quickly. Download your Skin Preparation Guide here.
- Do I Need Topical Numbing Cream For Pain Relief?
-
As Q-Switched Laser is incredibly fast, a topical numbing cream is not necessary.
- Do I Need To Shave My Hairs Before Laser Hair Reduction Treatments?
-
Unlike other hair removal Lasers and IPL systems, we do not require you to shave the hair prior to treatment. Ideal hair length is around 2-3mm above the skin’s surface.
- Can I Have Laser Hair Removal?
-
Our advanced Laser system allows darker skin types to successfully reduce their unwanted facial and body hair, safely.
For very blonde and fair coloured hair, as long as the hair shaft and bulb has medium to dark pigment you are also suitable to have Laser hair reduction. Your suitability will be discussed during your Hair Removal Consultation.
Electrolysis, or a combination of, is advised for hairs that are grey, red or blonde as Laser hair reduction alone may not work.
Laser hair reduction may not be suitable for clients with; epilepsy, pregnancy, healing disorders, active cold sores, photosensitising medications, recent sun exposure, sun tanned or fake tan, cancer patients undergoing treatment and some autoimmune disorders.
- How Will I Look Immediately After Laser Hair Removal?
-
Mild localised redness and strong swelling is usually experienced in the first treatment, however this will subside within a few hours. This reaction gradually reduces with each subsequent treatment and hair reduction. Treated hairs will immediately bleach and begin to fall out 1 to 2 weeks later.
If you have freckles and pigmentation on the treatment area, the laser will temporarily darken these spots, over time this will rejuvenate and even your skin tone.
- When Can I Have My Next Laser Hair Removal Treatment?
-
Treatment intervals depend on the area being treated and the combination of hair removal modalities being used. For facial hair we recommend treatments every 4 to 6 weeks and for body areas every 8 to 10 weeks, however treatment areas can initially be lasered as frequently as needed so that you can remain hair free and confident.
- How Many Treatments Will I Need For Laser Hair Reduction?
-
Every individual will need to be assessed and advised on their particular treatment program, especially where mixed modalities are utilised.
As this specialised laser treats otherwise “untreatable” fine hairs and dark skin types, generally more sessions are required in comparison to our IPL hair reduction treatments. On average we find a 50% permanent reduction is achieved over 10 to 15 sessions.
Some clients may need more treatments to achieve an adequate permanent reduction and desirable result. This may include clients with: fine and light brown hairs against a darker skin type, hormonal imbalances such as; PCOS or hirsutism, menopause and male clients.
- Do I Need A Test Patch?
-
Test patches allow our therapists to test the maximum and safe settings which means you will achieve your end result much quicker and more effectively. If a test patch is required, this will be provided during your consultation or prior to your first treatment at no extra charge.
Sometimes if it has been longer than 6 months or you have been exposed to the sun or had any recent medical changes you will be required to re test patch for an additional fee.
