At The Aesthetic Lounge your skin’s safety is our highest priority and why we always recommend you have a skin check every 12 months. This is for you to stay up-to-date with any skin changes you may have had and to allow for safe treatments.

However if this is your first visit to the clinic, you must provide a current skin check clearance letter, our clients recommend Mole Map Brighton.

Test patches allow our therapists to test the maximum and safe settings which means you will achieve your end result much quicker and more effectively. If a test patch is required, this will be provided during your consultation or prior to your first treatment at no extra charge.

Sometimes if it has been longer than 6 months or you have been exposed to the sun or had any recent medical changes you will be required to re test patch for an additional fee.

To achieve a youthful complexion without surgery, a series of our facial Laser Rejuvenation treatments will promote improved hydration, texture, tone and reduce fine lines, pigmentation, acne and discoloured scars. Results may be seen after the first session, however for best results, a series of 2-4 treatments for pigment and ageing and 6-8 treatments for acne and scarring are recommended.

The following contraindications include: epilepsy, pregnancy, healing and bruising disorders, sun tanned skin or recent fake tan application. Some darker skin types and photosensitising medications may be contraindicated.

During your Laser treatment you will feel a constant trail of heat with pins and needles passing over the treatment area followed by a sunburn like sensation. Due to the treatment being an amplified light based therapy, you may notice a bright flashing although your eyes will be protected with treatment goggles. Topical numbing cream is not required for Laser Rejuvenation as this treatment is quite tolerable. Our Cryo-jet cold air machine can also be utilised during your treatment to help cool your skin, ease discomfort and reduce downtime.

Downtime can be minimised with your pre and post treatment skin care products (please note body area recovery times will triple). Skin that is not sufficiently prepared will experience increased downtime, sensitivity, complications and slower results.

Day 1-2 | Skin sensitivity, like mild sunburn, may include: redness, swelling, heat, stinging, mild pinpoint bruising, tight or dry, your pigment may temporarily darken, bleaching of hairs and hair reduction.

Day 3-5 | Your skin may become: itchy, dry and swollen. Micro crusting and mild skin exfoliation will develop.

Day 7-10 | Pinpoint bruising will fade and resolve.

Once your skin is sufficiently prepared with our prescribed skincare and Advanced Treatments a series of facial Laser Rejuvenation treatments can be performed at 2 to 4 week intervals. Depending on your skin’s condition and concerns treatment intervals may be longer.

Cutting edge IPL and Laser systems are both found on the market (like the ones we use), unfortunately there are also low powered systems that do not deliver on their promise and even dangerous ones that can leave you with burns, scars and even more skin problems than you started with.
